Facilitation - Training - Teambuilding - Mediation
I have 20+ years' expertise facilitating in-person and online training. This includes workplace wellbeing, communication skills, mediation skills and conflict management training. If you have a problem to solve, a creative block or relationship challenges in your team, I can work with you to design and facilitate workshops for problem solving, programme design and team building.I am a mediator and can hold processes and training to support you to manage interpersonal conflicts with others, or within your team.It is important to me that everyone feels able to participate, in a productive and playful way. I'll work with you to design group work that is impactful, engaging and interactive, while being inclusive of those in the room and considerate of those outside the room.
Working Options In Education - Teambuilding WorkshopsThe Working Options In Education team are relatively newly formed, small, hard working, and high achieving. I provided an initial team building workshop to provide some space to get to know each other, including sharing leadership insights, communicating their individual needs at work and finding team practices that could meet these needs for the future.I was asked back to facilitate a second workshop to explore the traits of high performing teams. The group identified the qualities that they felt high performing teams possessed, from which I designed a process for them to assess their team against their own criteria, identifying improvements through small and large group discussion."I was sceptical about what would be expected of us and whether we would have to use cheesy teamwork terms eg. 'growth mindset'. but, at every turn, this session felt positive, organic and spoke clearly to what our team needed. Steph was a brilliant facilitator who helped us have conversations we may never have had otherwise." - Workshop Participant
Testimonials
Sarah Williams

"Steph designed and delivered a facilitated half day for our team. She came up with a design that really met the brief I had given her and delivered it well. The team enjoyed the session and it has helped us to move forward."

Working Options In Education
"Two hours of talking will have saved two years of team angst. Cutting through the veil of politeness and getting through to positive but critical conversation. Thank you."
Bianca Keys
Mediator, Trainer and Conflict Management Coach
"I have had the pleasure of knowing and working with Steph since 2008, and indeed it has been a pleasure. As a colleague I value Steph's insights immensely. She is the ultimate collaborator, with a mind that is always seeking possibilities over obstacles. This advantageous mindset makes Steph an ideal facilitator - her listening skills are exceptional, her approach inclusive and accommodating and the outcomes that she helps others explore are creative and satisfying. It is hard to leave a conversation with Steph feeling anything other than heard and inspired. I appreciate that this recommendation may sound too good to be true, but true it is. I am without hesitation in recommending Steph to anyone seeking an authentic, experienced and hard-working facilitator and/or conflict resolution specialist."
Individual
Coaching - Mentoring - Leadership Development - Retreats
I am an experienced manager and provide career, conflict, life and leadership coaching and mentoring to others. I strongly believe in the power (and empowerment) of coaching methodologies to enable perspective exploration, curiosity building and positive decision making.Questioning, listening, rapport building and vulnerability are at the heart of all I do.I will use different coaching approaches depending on your needs, which we can discuss in our introductory call. While a one-off session is possible, to truly work on your goals I would recommend a package. This can be delivered online or in person depending on your location.Through my retreats I provide a space for a small group to change their environment, process the past and make decisions for the future, including group and one to one work in a beautiful setting. If this is of interest to you please get in touch.
Workplace Coaching ExampleI was contacted by a workplace to provide coaching for a member of staff whose relationship with their manager had broken down, resulting in a disconnection from their work and a change in the way that they communicated. We met for an initial discussion and decided to meet weekly for the next 6 weeks. The sessions included working through the conflict with a practical and goal oriented approach, being specific about situations that had or could arise and working through preparation and reflection. By focusing on the outcome that they wanted they found a new and workable way to be in the relationship.

She not only helped me to transform my way of being at work but she also assisted me in transforming my whole life. From the very first session, Steph was able to help me locate the root of my fears and problems. Steph has this unique ability to hold space and to ask powerful questions that encourage you to access deep personal truths. "I've attended several mentoring sessions with Steph over the past year. Steph does a great job at listening and reflecting back to me what's been said. She is also great at taking the time to consider what is the most useful and supportive question to ask to help me reflect but also take the learning from these sessions deeper. She does a great job creating safety in these sessions by sharing where relevant and also showing kindness and empathy: I feel held and I feel heard in our sessions. Steph is a great mentor and has supported my personal development. Every session has been powerful, Steph is an amazing mentor!"

Design and Impact
Co-production - Programme Design - Impact Measurement - Theory of Change
I have been designing and facilitating processes for innovation, programme development and evaluation for almost a decade. I have specialised in co-production, overseeing inclusive and empowering processes for the meaningful involvement of service users.I can support you with design, evaluation frameworks or a particular problem or issue that needs addressing through inclusive discussion.I have particular expertise working with staff teams, facilitating facilitators (one of the hardest jobs around!) and designing and delivering co-production processes with young people.
Consultant Partnerships - Impact MeasurementConsultants Katharine and Tony were looking for an evaluation partner for an ongoing piece of training supporting the cultural shift of an organisation. Meeting with the consultants and the organisation allowed me to identify key measures of success, to inform the design of the evaluation framework. I then worked with the team to design, create, collate and report on evaluation responses, including an ongoing temperature check of the organisational culture to measure any changes over time."Stephanie has this incredible, expertly trained ability to hold and work with detail and analysis, whilst also holding the bigger picture. She can have a conversation and quickly identify key points, issues and indicators. Her ability to create relationships quickly and easily allows her access to people's real thoughts, opinions and experiences in a way that works for almost everyone." - Tony"It has been absolutely brilliant to have Steph on board. She is curious, creative and meticulous in her approach to impact measurement. I am consistently impressed with her ability to simultaneously see the wider picture of the work as well as the detail of the specific evaluation questions needed. She identifies patterns and emerging themes across large data sets and is able to communicate these with ease and clarity to those she works with. Steph's work has enabled us to get a real sense of how the process and outcomes are developing, so we are able to work responsively and the impact is that much more powerful and sustainable." - Katharine

"Steph is both a rigorous strategic thinker and a creative designer who can flex ideas upwards and downwards with ease. She does so with thoughtful intent with any stakeholder, with tactful communication, and with limitless curiosity. I was privileged to have witnessed her do so with trustees, senior management team and colleagues, external clients and partners and most importantly young people participants the organisation worked with.In my role as the Impact Manager, I specifically enjoyed working in partnership with Steph as the Innovation Manager. While staying true to an evidence-based and data-driven approach to identify opportunities for young people, she facilitated creative processes to design and improve training programmes to achieve the best outcomes with young people and the systems around them. Her ability to build genuine relationships effortlessly makes her an exceptional colleague, manager, thought partner, team-mate and leader."

Curiosity Catchers
One of my fundamental values is curiosity. Here are things that have made me curious, linked to the foundations of my work. I hope they spark curiosity for you!
SCARF Model - David Rock
This model shows how social threats and rewards activate the same part of our brain as physical threats and rewards used for survival
I always have in mind the 5 areas of David Rock's Study when someone seems to be having an 'overreaction' in a social situation - what has been threatened? It is also a great tool to keep in mind in leadership if you have ever thought, "how can I motivate those I manage?"
Dare to Lead - Brené Brown
In this book Brené draws on her research to highlight how whole hearted leadership creates cultures where teams can thrive
It's no secret that I love much of Brené Brown's work (just ask any of my ex-colleagues!). So much of her work speaks to the impact of the personal on the professional, authenticity, vulnerability and ultimately brings us back to our common humanity in our working relationships.
Dare to Disagree - Margaret Heffernan
In this TED Talk Margaret Heffernan explores the impact of group think and why healthy conflict is important for team functioning
The holy grail of team functioning is having healthy conflict - where teams can voice their opinions and differences (avoiding groupthink) without fear of reprisal or personal attack.
Lucky Fox Studio
A business I started with my partner creating music for tabletop role play games
While starting a business has its own stresses, Lucky Fox Studio has allowed me to revive the passions of my childhood that I had unintentionally put down for a 'career'. Embracing my creativity and braving sharing it has been a key part of acknowledging the needs of my whole self. Having others engage with and request what I create is more than just a business - it's a joy.
